Breast

  • Most common breast surgery? Breast augmentation
  • Will I be sedated? In the vast majority of cases, you will be sedated
  • How long will I be on sick leave? Usually 1-3 weeks

We have the option of performing breast surgery under both anesthesia or sedation. Local anesthesia is always used for pain relief postoperatively. If you are afraid of anesthesia, this is something you can talk to your plastic surgeon about. It is not uncommon for people to be afraid of anesthesia, but it is usually on incorrect grounds that this fear exists. During the consultation, you will find out what is suitable for you during your operation. If you perform a breast augmentation with your own fat, this is usually done with light sedation and local anesthesia, and the same applies to indented nipples when this operation is performed without being combined with, for example, a breast augmentation.

With us, your safety always comes first. We want our patients to feel their best and be in the safest conditions, and therefore a large part of our business is based on day surgery.
For major procedures, qualified aftercare is offered and we decide together with the patient what needs exist. We are available around the clock for you regardless of whether you are staying or going home. You never have to feel worried as you can call our emergency number after closing hours.

Depending on which breast surgery you perform, the dressing is also adapted for you. Most often, it is a special bandage in the form of a bra vest that is available at the clinic.
This is usually used for 2 – 3 weeks, around the clock, but it depends on your conditions and you will receive exact instructions from your plastic surgeon or from your nurse after the operation.

If you have come more than 45 minutes from Helsingborg, you usually have a follow-up check the day after surgery, otherwise the first check is carried out within a week. Further checks depend on which breast operation you have undergone and you will receive more detailed information about what applies to you at your consultation and on the day of the operation. However, it can generally be said that the final inspection occurs after six to twelve months.

The most common procedure in this category is breast augmentation with implants. Dissatisfaction with the size, shape or lack of symmetry of the breasts is the main reason why the patient seeks expert plastic surgery help. Breast augmentation can be done in combination with a breast lift. The most common type of implant we use is the Mentor brand “raspberry jelly” implant. The experienced specialists in Plastic Surgery at Oranos Plastic Surgery perform a significant part of all breast augmentations in Sweden annually. Naturally, we only work with medically proven techniques.
An interesting option, in selected cases, can be a breast augmentation with your own fat. This may be of interest when you are looking for a more natural alternative, this seen from the magnification material used. We can also change implants on you who have already had implants inserted before. You may want to do this if you are dissatisfied with the size after breast augmentation, if you have broken implants or other problems with your breasts. A breast augmentation is sometimes combined with correcting inverted nipples. Surgeries performed on breasts are as follows: breast augmentation, breast augmentation with own fat, breast lift, breast reduction plastic surgery and male breast surgery due to gynecomastia.

Just like pain, the recovery time is also individual, but you will not be bedridden for a long time regardless of which breast surgery you performed. Recovering from a breast augmentation with an incision in the breast crease, for example, is faster than getting back to everyday life after a breast reduction or when you have had a breast augmentation through the armpit. You can return to your normal life after a couple of days except that you must avoid heavy lifting and exercise.

The operation itself and immediately after the operation will not hurt, we make sure of this by using local anesthesia and pre-medication. Those who have undergone breast surgery usually say that days two to four are the worst and a real soreness from training or a pressure on the breasts due to the chest strap is not unusual. Screaming or crying because of the pain is not common with us when we perform customary breast operations, but a manageable “pressure” over the chest is likely to be experienced.

We have the opportunity to choose freely among the manufacturers that produce implants, but work almost exclusively with breast implants from Mentor. Mentor’s silicone-filled breast implants are manufactured in the high-tech production facility in Leiden, the Netherlands. This advanced production facility is the largest of its kind in the world. It showcases many cutting-edge technological advances that are new to the breast implant industry. Mentor carries out research, development and production at several facilities in Europe and the USA. Mentor was the first implant manufacturer to obtain CE marking for its products. Mentor is proud of the quality of each of its breast implants and patients can be sure that behind their decision to use Mentor’s products is a company with great care. Mentor’s gel-filled breast implants have a unique cohesive gel. This means that the gel acts as a solid material instead of a liquid. The gel holds together well but mimics the feel of breast tissue. Gel-filled breast implants often provide a more natural look and feel. Implants come in many different shapes, sizes, surface textures and levels of cohesiveness to suit different body types. Breast implant shapes and sizes Depending on the shape you want to achieve, the surgeon can choose a round or anatomically shaped implant. Both forms are available as gel-filled and saline-filled options. Gel-filled breast implants often provide a more natural look and feel. Body

  • Most common breast surgery? Abdominoplasty and liposuction
  • Will I be sedated? In the vast majority of cases, you will be sedated
  • How long will I be on sick leave? Usually 1-3 weeks

The liposuction technique WAL with body-jet ™ presupposes that the operated area is prepared with only small quantities of diluted local anesthetic with adrenaline; all with the aim of removing fat without bleeding. The patient is awake, calm and completely pain-free. In consideration of the patient’s well-being, light sedation is usually recommended. Tummy tucks are always carried out under general anaesthesia, while minor skin tucks only require local anesthesia with light sedation. If you are afraid of anesthesia, this is something you can talk to your plastic surgeon about. It is not uncommon for people to be afraid of anesthesia, but it is usually on incorrect grounds that this fear exists. During the consultation, you will find out what is suitable for you during your operation.

Specially designed compression bandages are procured on your behalf prior to surgery and applied immediately afterwards. The construction of the dressings enables visits to the toilet and hygiene maintenance without abatement during the first postoperative period. Compression bandages must be worn 4-6 weeks postoperatively depending on the circumstances such as the degree of swelling, the condition of the skin and the nature of work.

The degree of pain varies greatly from person to person and depending on the procedure performed. A liposuction is usually not experienced as a painful experience, while a larger abdominoplasty can often be experienced as more painful. As a patient at Oranos Plastic Surgery, you naturally receive adequate pain relief both before and after your operation.

After liposuction with the WAL body-jet ™ technique, you can work within 2-3 days, while abdominoplasty requires up to 3 weeks of sick leave, all depending on what work you have. You will receive information about what specifically applies to you at your consultation.

Body-shaping surgeries that are most frequently requested today are often associated with the adverse impact of extensive weight loss in previously obese patients. Areas that cannot be slimmed down or worked out are remedied with various surgical interventions. At Oranos Plastic Surgery, one of the most common procedures is liposuction, this is usually a painless experience with a short recovery time. Sometimes this can be done in combination if required, such as liposuction, abdominoplasty, thighplasty, armplasty to overcome hard-to-reach fat deposits or leftover skin. There may be talk of treating a smaller area such as the “love handles” with liposuction or operations over several large areas after a significant weight loss in e.g. a gastric bypass operation that left traces on the patient. In cases where the skin contraction cannot be calculated, simultaneous skin plastic surgery is recommended. On the front of the abdomen, abdominoplasty with or without umbilical displacement is recommended in this situation. Tightening of loose stomach muscles may be relevant at the same time. If there is a specific operation that is not listed here or that you are more curious about, you are of course welcome to contact us.

Liposuction/fat sculpture with the WAL body-jet ™ technique is performed without the need for the patient to stay longer than an hour after the procedure. Larger abdominoplasty with umbilical transposition sometimes needs 1 day of aftercare, which we offer in these cases.

You usually come for a follow-up within 1 week, patients traveling long distances come already the day after the procedure. Further checks depend on the type of operation, but generally it can be said that the final check occurs after 12 months.

Face

  • Most common body surgery? Abdominoplasty and liposuction
  • Will I be sedated? In the vast majority of cases, you will be sedated
  • How long will I be on sick leave? Usually 1-3 weeks

General anesthesia is relevant for major nose surgery and forehead lift. If you are afraid of anesthesia, this is something you can talk to your plastic surgeon about. It is not uncommon for people to be afraid of anesthesia, but it is usually on incorrect grounds that this fear exists. During the consultation, you will find out what is suitable for you during your operation. Other facial surgery is done in most cases with so-called intravenous sedation (sedation injection) supplemented with local anaesthetic. Adequate amounts of sedatives and painkillers guarantee you pain-free both during and after the procedure.

The local anesthetic is always injected after the patient has received sedative and pain-relieving medications. These provide less memory loss for the procedure itself and freedom from pain. After surgery, depending on which surgery was performed, you will be given adequate painkillers to give you as painless a recovery as possible.

Swelling and bruising usually occur after surgery on the face. You can usually return to daily activities within 1 week after facial surgery. After a face lift, however, it can take around 10-14 days before you are presentable. Varying degrees of bruising may occur. This can easily be hidden with make-up or sunglasses.

The most common reason for wanting to change the appearance of the face, among our patients, is the desire to correct a deformity or restore what aging has changed. With sophisticated techniques and long experience, Orano’s Plastic Surgery is at the forefront when it comes to facial surgery. The results are long-lasting and the recovery time is usually relatively short when plastic surgery is chosen as a treatment option in the facial region. Procedures such as eyelid surgery, face lift and forehead/eyebrow lift are plastic surgery procedures that are commonly used to prevent aging. Other common procedures such as rhinoplasty, ear surgery, chin augmentation are examples of aesthetic operations that are performed to reduce dissatisfaction with the innate appearance.
The most common procedure is a facelift, closely followed by eyelid surgery, usually in combination. Forehead lifting/eyebrow lifting also often occurs. Ear replacements can be relevant in all age groups. Rhinoplasty of various kinds form a separate group where we always consult an experienced ear-nose-throat specialist who routinely assists with major operations.

It all depends on which operation(s) you are going to carry out with us. Eyelid surgery does not require a bandage. After a facelift, the cheeks are encased in elastic bandages for a few days, while nose and ear surgeries require support bandages for a week or so. You will also receive detailed instructions on how your dressing should be used after your operation with us.

Directly after the operation, we meet within a week. If further checks are needed after that, we will arrange additional times. The final check-up occurs between 6-12 months postoperatively.

Some of the smaller intimate procedures are performed under local anesthesia. In the case of major operations and if several operations are performed at the same time of surgery, the operations are performed under general anaesthesia.

In most cases, our patients leave the clinic already 2-3 hours after their operation.

After the gastric balloon is inserted, it is filled with saline. The balloon will partially fill the stomach to help a person feel less hungry so that he or she can consume smaller portions of food and still feel satisfied with the amount.

The balloon is inserted into the stomach through the mouth without the need for surgery. The doctor inserts an endoscope camera (gastroscope) into the abdomen. If no abnormalities are observed, the balloon passes through the mouth and down the esophagus and into the stomach. Inside the stomach, the balloon is filled with a sterile saline solution through a small filling tube attached to the balloon. Once inflated, the doctor removes the tube by gently pulling on the outer end, after which the balloon lies freely in the abdomen.

This procedure is performed by a qualified gastroenterologist and trained nursing staff.

Placement of the balloon takes approximately 20 minutes, after which the patient is monitored for approx. 1 hour, after which the patient is sent home.

The Abdominal Balloon is designed to help with weight loss in people who ideally have 10 to 30 kg of weight to lose. The patient must have a BMI of 27 and above for the abdominal balloon to be offered.

It is also used for people who are not suitable for other types of weight loss surgery. The use of a gastric balloon can help reduce weight before surgery, reducing the risks of surgical procedures in obese patients.

The abdominal balloon can be placed in the abdomen for a period of 6-12 months, the period depends on how much you want to lose weight and the balloon is adjusted accordingly. If your doctor recommends that the balloon be used for more than 6 months, it is necessary to replace the balloon with a new one.

The doctor will place a dye in the balloon called Methlyene blue. This will help you identify an early voiding or leakage as it will change the color of your urine to green. If this should occur, notify the clinic immediately so that the balloon can be removed.

The abdominal balloon is removed in the same way it was placed; via the esophagus and mouth. Using an endoscopic camera, the doctor inserts a catheter through the mouth and into the abdomen. The balloon is then punctured and drained. Once the balloon is deflated, it can be removed and removed.
During the first week of the procedure, you should not plan any heavy activities. Once your body has adjusted to the balloon, you can resume your normal activities. It is highly recommended to start a regular exercise program to achieve better results.

It is important for you to understand that the gastric balloon is a tool to support weight loss and should be used in conjunction with diet, exercise and a follow-up program. The amount of weight you lose and keep off depends on how closely you follow your diet and long-term lifestyle changes. Read more about GastriBall’s scientifically proven effect here!

It is very likely that the presence of the balloon in the abdomen may cause nausea or vomiting for 5-7 days after placement. Our clinic prescribes medication to minimize these potential side effects, but these may occur in the first few days.

For a period of 5-7 days, it is a good idea to take time off from work due to the possibility of nausea.

There is a possibility that you will lose only a small part of your weight. This of course depends on your commitment to your diet and lifestyle.

There will be discomfort for the first few days after the procedure. After that, the stomach balloon will give you a feeling of fullness.

You should plan at least 5-7 days of inactivity to get over the procedure. You can expect a period of up to 14 days after surgery with reduced energy. You will then be able to resume normal activity, but it also depends on how quickly your body adjusts to the balloon.

It is not recommended to drink alcohol while having a gastric balloon.

Are there any food restrictions?

There are no food restrictions, even if you don’t feel like eating as much as you usually do. In addition, you may feel uncomfortable if you eat fatty foods or sweets. Excessive overeating while the balloon is in place can be dangerous.

The most common form of hair loss is hereditary. Men and women inherit the gene for Hair Loss from either one or both of their parents. Men are most affected by the inherited gene because the hormone testosterone activates the genetic programming that triggers the loss of hair follicles. Currently, there is no method to stop this type of hair loss except a hair transplant. Age of onset, degree and pace of hair loss varies from person to person. Several diseases, malnutrition and vitamin deficiencies can accelerate this process.
Hair loss is due to genetics. If you suffer from hair loss, it cannot be stopped. It may be possible to slow it down, but sooner or later the hair falls out inexorably if you have a predisposition to hair loss.

What one can do is seek help and perform a hair transplant. Hair is then taken from the parts of the head that never suffer from hair loss, namely the temples and the neck. Then you get a permanent solution to your hair problem. You get a hairline that stays for the rest of your life. Hair transplantation can be done in different ways. We use mainly two methods when we perform our hair transplants, the FUE method and the Strip method. Hair transplantation using the FUE method means, in short, that we pick hair follicle groups consisting of two or three hair follicles and attach them to the area of the head that lacks hair. Hair transplantation with the Strip method means that we take out a strip of skin with hair. We then separate the hair follicles from the skin strip, which are then transplanted. We provide you with the right hair transplant for your hair loss.

Yes it does. The transplanted hair is removed from the donor area from the body and transplanted to the desired area. The transplanted tissue will not be rejected because it is not foreign to the body. After the hair transplant and regrowth, the transplanted hair will retain its own characteristics such as color, growth rate and curls.

Minor scabs will form on the scalp where the grafts have planted. Generally these crusts will disappear after 7 days. Scalp shampooing can be resumed 5-7 days after surgery. The stitches from a Strip/FUT method must be removed 7 -10 days after the operation. The patient should avoid strenuous physical activities for at least 5 days. Generally, the transplanted hair will fall out 2-4 weeks after the operation, and regrowth starts after 3-4 months at 1.3 cm per month.

When the scalp is numb, you don’t feel pain. If the operation takes longer than expected, more anesthesia is added if necessary.
